Both our Kiwanis Foundation of Canada and our Kiwanis International Foundation have committed matching money donated by Kiwanis members.
In order to make sure that our donations go to where they are most needed, the Canada & Carribean district have partnered with UNICEF Canada. UNICEF already has field workers in Haiti providing aid.
The Canada District have set up a special Kiwanis web page, with UNICEF, that will allow us to track our Kiwanis donations and provide the necessary reports to our Foundations and to our Board of Trustees.

Angel's Chinese New Year Party
Our first project for 2009.......
Brought alot of joy to 14 orphans in Angels in Taman OUG on a hot sunny Saturday.
Despite the horrendous traffic jam which took 1.5 hours from Jalan Gasing to OUG, Khee, Helen
and friends made it to the home, albeit 2 hours late! One more week to Chinese New Year, and the rush to do last minute shopping chocked up the whole town!
We saw many happy faces on the children, age
between 4 years and 12 years.
They were also treated to a catered lunch. It was heart warming to see the children enjoying themselves with goodie bags, ang paus and being entertained by a clown too!
The Home is well run by Belinda, the housekeeper. The children are very well behaved, beyond a shadow of doubt, the mentors and caretakers are doing a very good job!
Many of the children are products of single parents, some of them are orphaned and some of them are abandoned.
According to William who is chiefly in charge of
Angels Children Home, needs RM6000 to run a month,
this rented house alone sets back RM1000 per month.
The Home has been around for 4 years and fortunately, they have managed so far with donations from well wishers.

KCPJ donated RM1000 to the Home and it was received on behalf by Belinda.
The children were given ang paus by Kwn Yap and his lovely wife and some of her friends.

KCPJ cares .............
Here is Belinda receiving the cheque from Kwn Yap.
A little help goes a long way.
Thank you KCPJ

Year of the OX

A brand new start to a brand New Year brings KCPJ together again - this time in Neways Karaoke, One Utama on 2nd January 2009

14 members turned up and was rewarded with a splendid buffet spread, drank some beer BUT had to pay RM9/bowl of chips and RM25 / platter of fruits
The shy ones were *entertained* by some Whitney Houstons and Tom Jones. Some potential Malaysian Idols were born last nite!
Pity Yap had to leave early, we did not find out if he sounded like Alan Tam or Boyz to Men!
Samuel, Florence and YimPeng sounded like pros when they belted out songs from TVB series! Sam ( aka Jackie Cheung) practise more, we shall send you to represent us in the national singing competition.
Eugene and Michael crooned songs that revealed their age! Back date to 1950s (how many of us were born then?? ) But they were NOT only good, they were EXCELLENT!
Thanks to Cynthia (this woman can sing) and Helen (back up singer) for putting this gathering together.
Maybe we should do this again, and again, and again and..........
We had a great time!
Wishing everyone a Bountiful New Year! Be blessed!
